Juan Gomez de Liano joins Japan B.League’s EarthFriends Tokyo Z

Gilas Pilipinas cadet and former UAAP Rookie of the Year Juan Gomez de Liano has signed with Japanese B.League club EarthFriends Tokyo Z, the team announced on Wednesday.

The former UP Fighting Maroon follows the footsteps of brothers Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena with the move.

“I am honored to be part of the EarthFriends Tokyo Z Team. I am very excited to battle it out with you guys and to be part of this journey,” Gomez de Liano said in an official team statement.

“I am looking forward to meeting you all soon.
I hope I can count on your continuous support through the challenges ahead. Let’s get it!”

The point guard starred for the University of the Philippines, helping them reach the Final Four multiple times.

The 22-year-old playmaker was also part of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers first and second window squads of Gilas.

EarthFriends Tokyo Z currently plays in the second division of the B.League. They finished with a lowly 13-46 record in the most recent season.
