The Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok acquired star forward Calvin Abueva from the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters in a blockbuster PBA trade Wednesday, One Sports reported.

Abueva made a successful return to the league in the 2020 Philippine Cup bubble, following an indefinite ban.

He led Phoenix and was even a nominee for Best Player of the Conference.

Abueva will be fortifying a frontcourt that already includes Ian Sangalang and Jackson Corpuz.

Phoenix, meanwhile, will get guard Chris Banchero, plus the 6th and 18th overall picks in the upcoming PBA draft, in hopes of getting more in a talent-rich pool.

Magnolia will also receive the Fuel Masters’ 10th pick.
