After a roller-coaster process, Filipino teenage star Kai Sotto is set to rejoin Team Ignite in the NBA G-League.

According to multiple reports, Sotto has pulled out of Gilas Pilipinas, and is set to fly back to the United States in hopes of making it back on time.

Ignite is currently 2-0 in the NBA G-League bubble in Orlando, Florida, led by Fil-Am star Jalen Green.

The 7-2 Sotto initially committed in January to play for Gilas in the Clark bubble for the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers 3rd window.

The hosting was cancelled primarily due to international travel restrictions, and the bubble was moved to Doha, Qatar.

But following a COVID-19 outbreak in Qatar, FIBA Asia decided to return to the Philippines for games of several groups.
