The 11th season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League — Philippines will open its arena starting on February 17.
With the country’s recent triumph in the M4 World Championship, the 11th iteration of the most prestigious MLBB esports event is expected to showcase an even more elevated professional league.
“MPL Philippines Season 11 aims to showcase our elevated level of strength. The Philippines is known to be the birthplace of greatness with our MLBB esports titles, and there is no way to go but upward and onward,” MOONTON Games senior marketing manager Tonyo Silva said.
“We are excited to bring our fans a new and more intense tournament that will introduce a new wave of strategies and faces.”
This season will feature eight squads competing for the title and US$ 150,000: Echo, Blacklist International, Nexplay EVOS, Smart Omega, RSG Slate PH, BREN Esports, ONIC, and TNC Pro Team.
The tournament will run from February 17 to April 16 and will be held at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.
As this season will be open to the public, interested fans may purchase tickets via Ticket2Me with prices ranging from PhP 100 to PhP 350. MOONTON will only accommodate 220 persons per match day.
This calendar year will also see the introduction of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League (MDL) in the Philippines, with 10 teams participating.
Aside from the eight MPL franchises, Gamelab and ZOL Esports complete the cast. The top prize for the Development League is US$ 20,000.
“The Philippines has a rich pool of undiscovered players and talents that show great potential to conquer the bigger stage,” Silva said of the importance of having a developmental league in the country.
The MDL will have Tuesday and Wednesday match days, with the playoffs scheduled for April 21 to 23.
An interesting aspect of the MDL is that it will allow mid-season transfers for both players and coaches from February 20 to March 27. Potential stars may also be elevated to the MPL-PH competition.
