The women’s squad of Kaya F.C. continued to roll in the SingaCup-organized Women’s Football Championship in Singapore, thrashing Thai champs Phranakorn F.C., 6-0 on Wednesday at the Bedok Stadium.
Guest player and Filipinas stalwart Alisha Del Campo showed yet again why she is currently one of the most prolific scorers in the Philippine women’s football team, finishing with a hattrick for coach Let Dimzon’s ladies as the team went 2-0 in the four-nation competition.
Mainstays Irish Navaja and Shelah Cadag also contributed one goal each, while guest player Anicka Castaneda saw action as a substitute and capped the impressive victory with a conversion of her own.
The full-strength Kaya side started a star-studded group that featured goalkeeper Inna Palacios, long-time captain Hali Long, Chelo Hodges, Bhebe Lemoran, Maye Mendano, and new recruit Mea Bernal, along with Navaja, Cadag, Dionesa Tolentin, and Zhyrelle Belluga.
Kaya will wrap up its campaign in the tournament against Indonesian club Persib Bandung Putri on Friday back at the German European School.
