Settee Prakongvech and Runchanapong Youprayong emerged as joint leaders at the IGPL Bharath Classic leaderboard after a challenging second round on Friday at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in Morocco. The US$500,000 event tightened at the top as both players reached nine-under-par at the halfway stage.
The windy coastal conditions tested the entire field, but the Thai duo managed to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Settee produced a bogey-free seven-under 65, while Runchanapong maintained his position at the summit despite a rollercoaster round of 70.

Another Thai contender, Ekpharit Wu, remained in contention after a steady 67 pushed him into a tie for third place. Austrian Niklas Regner joined him at six-under, keeping the leaderboard tightly packed behind the leaders.
Indian interest stayed strong as Karandeep Kochhar and several international players shared fifth place at five-under. The group included Lloyd Jefferson Go of the Philippines along with multiple challengers still within reach of the lead.
Thai dominance at top
The IGPL Bharath Classic leaderboard developed into an all-Thailand battle at the top, with both co-leaders handling the demanding wind conditions better than most of the field. Their control in difficult scoring conditions became the defining feature of the second round.
Settee’s clean card stood out as he delivered four front-nine birdies and three more on the back nine without dropping a shot. His ability to manage the wind proved decisive as he built momentum through the round.
Runchanapong also maintained consistency despite setbacks, including a double bogey that briefly halted his progress. His early birdie helped stabilize his round and keep him tied for the lead heading into the weekend.
Chase pack builds pressure
Behind the leaders, Ekpharit Wu continued to show strong form in windy conditions that have historically suited his game. His late birdie ensured he stayed within striking distance of the top group.
Several international contenders remain within reach as the tournament heads into its final stages at Mazagan Beach Resort. The tightly packed leaderboard sets up a competitive weekend as players chase the US$500,000 prize fund.
Settee credited his performance to strong ball control and comfort in the wind, noting that low ball flight helped him manage conditions. Runchanapong emphasized resilience after overcoming a mid-round setback to stay at the top of the standings.
The event is part of the Asian Tour’s swing in Morocco, with the next stop scheduled in Rabat for the International Series Morocco. The coastal venue continues to test players with strong winds shaping scoring opportunities throughout the week.
