The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines brought together more than 100 golfers for a day of business and camaraderie. The GREAT British Golf Tournament teed off last Friday, August 14, at Wack Wack Golf & Country Club.

BCCP Executive Vice Chairman Chris Nelson led the ceremonial tee-off to kick things into gear. The event was designed to build business ties between British and Filipino companies while celebrating the game of golf.

Golf Tournament Strengthens Ties Between British and Filipino Firms

Nelson said the real value of the gathering lies in the connections it creates. “The best part of this tournament is seeing people come together,” he said.

He noted the tournament gives members a welcome break from the daily grind. “It gives our members and partners the opportunity to step away from work, enjoy a game of golf, and strengthen the relationships they’ve built,” Nelson said.

He tied the event directly to BCCP’s long-term mission in the Philippines. “Creating these connections and lasting partnerships has been central to the Chamber’s work for over a decade,” he said.

A strong lineup of sponsors backed the tournament. Major supporters included GETGO Golf Carts, Turkish Airlines, Shell, Pru Life UK and Jollibee Group.

Additional backing came from PLDT Enterprise and Canon Philippines. The Peninsula Manila and Grand Hyatt Manila also lent their support, with Sportsbytes serving as the event’s official media partner.
