PVL All-Filipino: Creamline bounces back with win over Choco Mucho

Creamline reclaimed its dominance in the PVL All-Filipino Conference with a 27-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-15 victory over Choco Mucho at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday night, Feb 10. The Cool Smashers responded strongly after a disappointing opening loss, demonstrating why they remain one of the league’s most formidable teams.

Fans were treated to powerful attacks, precise blocks, spectacular saves, and quick plays from both squads. Despite moments of intensity from Choco Mucho, Creamline’s experience and focus carried the day in a match that lasted nearly two hours.

Pons leads Creamline’s all-around performance

Bernadette Pons starred for Creamline with a triple-double: 19 points, 18 excellent receptions, and 13 digs. Her performance set the tone for the team’s decisive plays. “Everyone gave their all and showed incredible hustle,” Pons said, highlighting the collective effort over individual recognition.

Tots Carlos and Jema Galanza each contributed 11 points, while Pangs Panaga added 12. Playmaker Jia De Guzman delivered eight points, three kill blocks, and 20 excellent sets, stabilizing the offense and ensuring the team stayed on track.

Creamline’s resilience outshines Choco Mucho

Choco Mucho fought valiantly but was hampered when Eya Laure left the court with a leg injury in the fourth set. Libero Tonnie Rose Ponce assisted Laure to the bench, leaving the Flying Titans without one of their primary scorers. Sisi Rondina led the team with 15 points, while Laure contributed 19 before exiting.

Despite contributions from Lorraine Pecaña (10 points) and a combined 15 markers from Jaila Atienza and Kat Tolentino, Choco Mucho struggled to sustain momentum. Creamline capitalized on opportunities, dominating the final sets and leveling their conference record to 1-1.

With experience, depth, and calm under pressure, Creamline reaffirmed its status as a benchmark team in the PVL All-Filipino Conference. The victory kept them in contention alongside Galeries Tower Highrisers and Capital1 Solar Spikers, all tied at 1-1.
