Ancheta rules TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025

Victor Ancheta made his mark on the racing scene by winning the TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025 national title. He outperformed the best racers in the country during the finals held on October 12 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Thousands of fans watched as Ancheta delivered consistent performances through every round to secure the crown and a spot in the Asia Finals.

The tournament, organized by Toyota Motor Philippines, wrapped up its sixth season in front of more than 20,000 spectators. It featured top sim racers competing for national glory and international representation.

Ancheta takes control in TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025

Ancheta started third among over 250 racers. He remained composed through the quarterfinals, semifinals and national finals. His steady pace and clean racing proved decisive in the end.

Enzo Ison, last year’s runner-up and Asia Finals veteran, finished second. Matthew Ang took third place, earning another chance to compete internationally. All three drivers will form Team Philippines for the Asia Finals in Thailand.

The quarterfinals featured 40 racers across four groups. Using the GR Yaris High Performance ’20 on Dragon Tail Gardens, Ison, Ang and Jether Miole dominated the heats. In the semifinals, points were reset as 20 racers faced new challenges. Races were held on Mount Panorama, Redbull Ring, and Daytona International Speedway with tire wear and fuel consumption active. Miole topped the round ahead of Ang and Ison.

A Wild Card Round gave eight racers a last chance to qualify. James Lopez won the race, joining the 10 finalists.

National finals decide the TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025 crown

The national finals had three races on different tracks and cars. Drivers competed in the Toyota Supra Racing Concept ’18 at Kyoto Driving Park – Yamagiwa, the Toyota GR Yaris at Colorado Springs, and the Toyota GR010 Hybrid at Circuit de Spa Francorchamps under dynamic weather.

Ison won the opening race, followed by Ancheta. Ang claimed the second race. The final race featured changing conditions and bold tire strategies. Michael Velasquez passed Ancheta on the last lap to win, but Ancheta’s consistent finishes gave him the overall title with 72 points. Ison scored 67.5 and Ang tallied 61.5.

Ancheta also won the Crowd Favorite award. Miole took Best Overtake, Ison earned Smooth Operator, and Ang received Pole Position honors.

The event was sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines, with Petron and GT Radial as official partners. Additional support came from Seiko, Toyota Financial Services Philippines, Tuason Racing, AVT, 3M, Denso, OMP, ROTA, Autoplus, PIAA, Vinyl Frog, AutoQuix, Sparco, myTOYOTA Wallet and Kinto One.
