Alec Stockton dropped a season-high 33 points to lead Converge FiberXers to a dominant 111-92 win over NorthPort in the 2025 PBA Philippine Cup, signaling a fierce resurgence just in time for the playoff push.
After a dismal 66-point performance against Barangay Ginebra, Converge didn’t just recover—they exploded.
Stockton lit up the PhilSports Arena with his most complete game of the season, dropping 13 of his 33 points in the second quarter to pull the FiberXers away from a close early battle. He added another 8 in the final period to put the finishing touches on a statement win.

“We’re not close to where we want to be. Just keep progressing, try and get a playoff spot and work from there,” said Stockton, who knocked down 5 triples and shot 52 percent from the field.
This performance came at the perfect time. With the playoff picture tightening, Converge now sits at 5-3 with just three elimination games left. The first of those comes next Friday against NLEX—a matchup that could push them into contention for a twice-to-beat advantage.
A Full-Team Lockdown
Stockton didn’t carry the load alone.
Schonny Winston added 22 points, while big men Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar both posted double-doubles. Arana had 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Baltazar put up 10 and 11. The two helped Converge dominate the interior, especially with NorthPort missing top gun Arvin Tolentino due to injury.
“Somehow bumalik kami sa identity namin—defense,” said Converge head coach Franco Atienza. “NorthPort usually averages 100-plus, and we limited them to 92. That’s a huge factor.”
From shooting 31 percent against Ginebra, Converge flipped the switch and shot a scorching 51.8 percent from the floor this time. Their 10 three-pointers and improved ball movement kept NorthPort scrambling.
NorthPort in Freefall
This marks the fifth straight loss for the Batang Pier, who now face an uphill battle just to stay in postseason contention.
Joshua Munzon had 23 points while William Navarro chipped in 20 and nine rebounds before exiting with cramps. Cade Flores and James Kwekuteye added a combined 26 points, but NorthPort couldn’t keep up with Converge’s pace or physicality.
Still without Arvin Tolentino, the team struggled on both ends, going just 36-of-89 from the field and allowing Converge to dictate tempo throughout.
The final dagger came with 4:07 left to play when Arana’s free throw made it 107-84, effectively sealing the FiberXers’ fifth win and sending a message to the rest of the league.
As the playoff race heats up, Converge is no longer just a team to watch—they’re a team to fear.
