Jalen Hudson didn’t even need to break a sweat — and Converge still tore Titan Ultra apart.
The returning import logged just 24 minutes but stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals without a single turnover, powering the FiberXers to a lopsided 105-74 demolition of an all-Filipino Titan Ultra squad Sunday in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Center-Montalban.

Hudson’s Efficient Night Sets the Tone for a Rout
With James Milton still stuck on FIBA clearance, the Giant Risers were left without reinforcement for the second straight game — and it showed almost immediately.
Coach Delta Pineda kept Hudson on a short leash, opting to save his star import’s legs for the battles ahead. Even so, Converge barely felt the pinch.
Justin Arana, Mikey Williams, Calvin Abueva and Juan Gomez de Liano stepped up to pick up the slack, spearheading a 19-9 blitz that broke the game wide open. By halftime, Converge had built a commanding 50-26 lead.
Titan Ultra’s Shooting Slump Turns Into a PBA Record
Titan Ultra’s night went from bad to historic. The Giant Risers finished 0-of-17 from three-point range in the first half alone — a new PBA record for most three-point attempts without a make in a half, eclipsing Rain or Shine’s infamous 0-of-15 outing against TNT back in 2015, according to stats chief Fidel Mangonon.
Archie Concepcion led all Converge locals with 16 points on a perfect 2-of-2 clip from deep. Arana chipped in 14 points, Williams added 13, and Justine Baltazar contributed a double-double effort with 10 rebounds and six points.
Gomez de Liano, meanwhile, turned playmaker for the night, dishing out nine assists to go with nine rebounds and two points.
Fran Yu and Jason Sajonia each finished with 14 points for the Giant Risers, who fell to 0-2 on the young Governors’ Cup campaign. Titan Ultra will look to regroup Tuesday against unbeaten NLEX (2-0) at Ynares Center-Antipolo.
Converge, meanwhile, is riding a redemption arc after missing the playoffs in the Commissioner’s Cup. The FiberXers will look to move to 2-0 on Wednesday when they take on Terrafirma at the Big Dome.
