Czechia completed a remarkable comeback after overcoming a two-set deficit to defeat the Dominican Republic, 17-25, 24-26, 25-18, 31-29, 15-10, in the final day of the Pasig City leg of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League at the Philsports Arena.
The victory ended Czechia’s three-match losing streak in the tournament presented by the Philippine Sports Commission while keeping its hopes of reaching the Finals in Macau alive.

Czechia Stages Comeback
After dropping the opening two sets, Czechia regrouped and gradually shifted the momentum behind improved attacking efficiency and timely defensive plays.
The Czechs outlasted the Dominicans in a tightly contested fourth set before taking control of the deciding fifth set to complete the reverse sweep.
The victory improved Czechia’s record to 4-4, giving the team 11 points as it continued its push for one of the eight Finals berths.
Brancuska Leads Victory
Monika Brancuska delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with 28 points built on 23 attacks, three blocks and two service aces.
Magdalena Jehlarova and Michaela Mlejnkova added 14 points apiece to provide balanced support throughout the comeback victory.
For the Dominican Republic, Flormarie Heredia led the scoring with 17 points, while Jineiry Martinez, Yonkaira Paola Pena Ysabel and Geraldine Sthefany Gonzalez contributed 15 points each.
The Dominican Republic concluded the Pasig City leg with a 1-3 record and now holds five points after eight matches.
Czechia will continue its campaign in Pool Seven in Belgrade during Week Three, while the Dominican Republic heads to Hong Kong for Pool Eight.
Meanwhile, the United States completed a perfect four-match sweep in Pasig City after defeating Serbia in four sets.
