For Georgiev, the upcoming contest marks a major milestone as he prepares to make his BRAVE CF debut in front of his home crowd while showcasing his unbeaten professional record on one of MMA’s global stages.

The Bulgarian fighter admitted the opportunity carries special meaning as he prepares to compete under the bright lights in front of local supporters. Georgiev said he has waited a long time for the moment and intends to prove that Bulgaria has another elite-level MMA talent ready for international competition.

Rising stars collide

Georgiev enters the matchup carrying one of the most decorated amateur backgrounds among Europe’s young MMA talents. He established himself as a standout name after winning IMMAF World Championship gold medals in both 2017 and 2018.

Since turning professional in 2021, the Bulgarian lightweight has remained unbeaten with a 3-0 record while displaying versatility through both knockout and submission victories. His calm approach and technical skill set have quickly made him one of the country’s most promising mixed martial artists.

The matchup, however, presents a dangerous challenge against an opponent who has quickly become one of BRAVE CF’s most explosive rising contenders. Yaqoob enters the contest carrying strong momentum after a pair of statement-making victories under the BRAVE CF banner.

The Indian lightweight owns a 5-1 professional record and has built a reputation for aggressive finishes inside the cage. He forced Ian Paul Lora to submit from strikes during BRAVE CF 98 before following it up with another dominant first-round stoppage victory against Mehmet Can Tasdoven at BRAVE CF 103 through relentless ground-and-pound attacks.

Those back-to-back finishes helped Yaqoob secure the promotion’s 2025 BRAVE CF Breakout Fighter of the Year honor while elevating his status among the division’s top prospects. His performances also established him as one of the lightweight division’s fastest-rising competitors heading into the Bulgaria event.

Yaqoob acknowledged the challenge of facing a hometown favorite but insisted he welcomes difficult fights that push his growth as a fighter. The Indian standout said he remains focused on continuing his momentum and proving himself against elite competition on the international stage.

Elite camps involved

The matchup gains even more intrigue because of the elite-level camps surrounding both fighters heading into the contest. Georgiev trains alongside BRAVE CF alumnus and UFC star Ilia “El Matador” Topuria, while Yaqoob continues sharpening his skills under MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Both camps are widely respected for producing aggressive, technically sound fighters capable of competing at the highest level of the sport. Their involvement adds another layer of anticipation to a fight already attracting significant attention from MMA fans.
