Team Heart closes strong to defeat Team Hustle in PVL All-Star Showcase exhibition match

Team Heart delivered a strong closing performance to defeat Team Hustle in the PVL exhibition match of the 2026 Volleyball All-Star Showcase, finishing with a four-set victory at the packed Candon City Arena. The match featured momentum swings, fan engagement, and a festive All-Star atmosphere throughout the night.

Team Heart relied on MVP Bella Belen to anchor their offense as both squads split the opening two sets in a tightly contested start. After dropping the second frame, Team Heart regained control in the third set and carried that momentum into a dominant fourth-set finish.

Fourth-set surge seals Team Heart victory

Team Heart exploded out of the gate in the fourth set, building an 11-1 lead that immediately put Team Hustle under pressure. The early run set the tone for a decisive frame as Team Heart maintained control through strong serves and consistent attacks.

From there, Team Heart never allowed a serious comeback attempt, steadily extending their advantage and reaching match point at 24-17. The final point capped a controlled finish that highlighted their composure in the closing stretch of the match.

Bella Belen credited the experience and fan interaction as a key highlight of the showcase, noting the energy from the crowd in Candon City. Team Hustle, despite the loss, kept the match competitive through the middle sets before fading late.

All-Star showcase highlights festive atmosphere

The exhibition match featured several lighthearted moments, including players rotating into unusual roles such as line judging and serving, along with coaches participating in service attempts. Libero players also joined attacking plays, adding to the entertainment value of the event.

The final rally saw court assistant Jhyson Manzano, brought in by Alyssa Valdez, finish the match with a cross-court hit off a set from Jia De Guzman. The ball deflected off Kath Arado, sealing the win for Team Heart in dramatic fashion.

Team Hustle settled for the runner-up finish as the All-Star Showcase emphasized fan engagement and entertainment alongside competition.
