Garcia powers Criss Cross with dominant outing
Jude Garcia led the charge with 26 points built on 23 attacks and three kill blocks, anchoring the team’s offensive surge. Jaron Requinton added 18 points in a starting role, while Noel Kampton contributed 12 markers to round out a potent scoring trio.
Requinton, stepping in for the injured Alche Gupiteo, delivered a standout performance that earned him Best Player of the Game honors. His energy and production highlighted the team’s depth and readiness to adapt under pressure.
Setter Adrian Villados orchestrated the offense with precision, tallying 29 excellent sets while keeping the attack fluid throughout the match. Kampton also made his presence felt defensively with 18 excellent receptions, helping stabilize the team’s backcourt.
Savouge fights back but Criss Cross finishes strong
Savouge refused to go quietly, taking a tightly contested second set after overcoming a 24-all deadlock. Clutch plays from Calado and a key block by Shawie Caritativo on Garcia allowed the Spin Doctors to even the match.
However, Criss Cross responded emphatically, dominating the third set and seizing full control in the fourth. A decisive run highlighted by back-to-back blocks from Garcia and Lloyd Josafat helped break the game open and put Savouge on the back foot.
The King Crunchers imposed their will at the net, finishing with 16 kill blocks while capitalizing on 26 opponent errors. Their defensive presence and ability to convert crucial points proved decisive in closing out the match.
Calado led Savouge with 23 points, while JP Bugaoan added 10 and Giles Torres and Louie Ramirez chipped in seven each. Despite the loss, the Spin Doctors showed resilience and proved capable of matching up with the league’s top team.
Criss Cross now stands on the verge of another title after winning the Invitational Conference last year. With momentum on their side, they will look to close out the series, while Savouge faces a must-win situation to keep its championship hopes alive.
