Converge finally put things together in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, snapping a five-game losing streak with a dominant 103-82 win over Titan Ultra on Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. The FiberXers seized control early and never let go, showing urgency on both ends of the floor.
A decisive 30-12 surge in the second quarter turned the game into a one-sided affair, allowing Converge to build a commanding lead that stretched to as much as 95-73. The early separation gave them full control of the tempo while keeping Titan on the defensive for most of the contest.

Balanced attack powers Converge breakthrough
Justin Arana led the charge with 19 points, anchoring Converge’s offense with consistent production inside the paint. Juan Gomez de Liano added 15 points, while Calvin Abueva chipped in 14 in just his second game back from injury.
Abueva’s efficiency stood out as he knocked down four of five attempts from beyond the arc, providing a crucial scoring boost. His presence, along with De Liano’s return, helped stabilize a team that had struggled with cohesion in previous games.
Import Kylor Kelley quietly dominated the interior with 10 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks, giving Converge a strong defensive presence. His work on the boards and rim protection limited Titan’s second-chance opportunities throughout the game.
Titan struggles as Converge gains momentum
Titan Ultra dropped to a 2-4 record despite a strong performance from Earl Gilmore, who finished with a game-high 26 points and 16 rebounds. He carried much of the offensive load but lacked enough support to keep pace.
Joshua Munzon contributed 15 points and six steals, but struggled with efficiency as he made just five of 17 attempts from the field. His shooting difficulties mirrored Titan’s overall struggles to find rhythm against Converge’s defense.
Converge dominated key statistical categories, including a 50-32 advantage in points in the paint while shooting a more efficient percentage from the field. They also converted 10 three-pointers compared to Titan’s five, further widening the gap.
The win improved Converge’s record to 2-5, keeping its playoff hopes alive while showing signs of improved chemistry. With key players returning to form, the FiberXers now look to build momentum and turn this breakthrough into a sustained run.
