AEP-Cabstars ended a two-game skid with a convincing 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 win over 3B in the 2026 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference on Sunday, March 8, at the Filoil Playtime Centre. The Cabstars, coming off consecutive losses to Criss Cross and Savouge, improved to 2-3 and retained fourth place heading into the final phase of the two-round eliminations.

The victory allowed the team to regain composure and confidence. Head coach Kitty Antiporta emphasized the importance of their pre-game huddle, noting that it helped the players focus and execute effectively despite a shortened rotation. “Maganda para sa amin ‘yung panalo na ‘to. Na-gain namin ‘yung composure namin, so every game kasi short kami lagi. So kanina bago nag-start, nag-huddle kami. Maganda ‘yung huddle namin, that’s why kaya kami nanalo,” she said.

Jay Rack De La Noche led the scoring with 17 points, converting 15 attacks and adding two blocks. He also contributed six excellent receptions, providing stability to the team’s backline. Jared Schnake made an immediate impact in just his second game with the squad, producing 15 points from 14 attacks and one block. The duo of Vince Abrot and Nas Gwaza added 12 and eight points, respectively, with Abrot delivering two aces. Vince Lorenzo anchored the defense with 15 excellent receptions, ensuring that the Cabstars controlled the flow from start to finish.

They also held a 6-4 advantage in blocks and a 3-1 edge in service aces, allowing them to control momentum and limit 3B’s opportunities. The combination of efficient offense and disciplined defense proved decisive in the straight-sets win.

With the victory, AEP-Cabstars aim to build on their momentum when they face the Event Masters again on Friday at 3 p.m. at the same venue.
