Creamline gears up to reclaim PVL All-Filipino crown with returning stars

Despite last season ending without a title, the Creamline Cool Smashers remain the team everyone is circling on the PVL calendar. Their depth, experience, and championship pedigree continue to make them a formidable presence in the 2026 All-Filipino Conference.

The return of eight-time Best Setter Jia de Guzman and former league MVP Bernadeth Pons, fresh from their Southeast Asian Games success, has restored the Cool Smashers to near-full strength. These additions, combined with Jema Galanza’s comeback from injury and the inclusion of Jennifer Nierva, reinforce a roster that rivals know is capable of dominating.

Key returns heighten Creamline’s threat

Coaches across the league are taking notice. Choco Mucho’s Dante Alinsunurin highlighted the impact of returning players: “Creamline is still the team to beat with so many top players back.” Capital1’s Jorge Souza de Brito added, “Jia’s return changes the dynamic completely.”

De Guzman rejoins after nearly three years away, having won a V.Cup title in Japan’s S.V. League with Denso Airybees. Pons skipped last year’s PVL conferences while representing the national team. Galanza, sidelined during the import-laced conference, and Nierva, a proven defensive asset, complete a lineup that rivals can’t overlook.

Cignal’s Shaq Delos Santos stressed the need for team cohesion but acknowledged Creamline’s reinforced squad will be a major hurdle. PLDT’s Rald Ricafort echoed the sentiment, noting that once his team’s rhythm is set, all eyes would naturally focus on Creamline.

Competition set to intensify in PVL 2026

Even Nxled’s Etorre Guidetti singled out Creamline and the High Speed Hitters as the teams he is most eager to face. With rising squads and star-laden lineups, the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference promises intense battles, but Creamline’s blend of talent, experience, and championship lessons make them the team to beat.
