Rugby icons to engage fans as official ambassadors
Tuwai brings elite credentials as a former Fiji Sevens captain, two-time Olympic gold medallist and Sevens World Cup winner. He was named World Rugby Men’s Sevens Player of the Decade in 2020 and continues to promote rugby-led development through grassroots initiatives.
Tui, a standout of New Zealand’s Black Ferns, is an Olympic gold medallist, Women’s Rugby World Cup champion and Rugby World Cup Sevens winner. She is widely known for her leadership and advocacy in growing the women’s game and inspiring new audiences.
Hirayama, a former Canada Sevens captain and Olympic flag bearer, has a strong connection to Singapore after leading Canada to victory at the Singapore Sevens in 2017. Since retiring from international play, he has remained active in coaching, mentoring and leadership roles.
Organisers have also released the fixtures for HSBC SVNS Singapore 2026. France will face Canada in the opening women’s match, while the men’s competition begins with France taking on New Zealand.
