TNT stayed red-hot in the PBA Philippine Cup as Kelly Williams delivered a throwback masterpiece, guiding the Tropang Giga past Terrafirma, 109-95, in overtime at the Ynares Center in Montalban on Friday, November 7.

Williams erupted for 28 points highlighted by eight three-pointers, sparking TNT’s late surge as the team notched its third straight victory and improved to 5-1.

TNT taps veteran composure in pressure moments

The Tropang Giga relied on poise and big-shot making when it mattered most. Williams drilled clutch triples in overtime to break free from a feisty Terrafirma squad that forced extra time behind Jerrick Ahanmisi’s steady scoring.

Williams, who also grabbed 11 rebounds, said he simply made the most of the trust shown by the coaching staff and teammates. The 2008 MVP became the oldest player in league history to hit at least eight triples in a single game.

Roger Pogoy added 21 points, Calvin Oftana chipped in 15, and Rey Nambatac scored 14 in a balanced support effort. Jiovani Jalalon contributed seven points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals, becoming the 36th player to reach 500 career steals.

Chot Reyes pushes for higher standards despite win

Despite the result, TNT coach Chot Reyes expressed disappointment with the team’s early effort, saying Terrafirma “completely outplayed” them before Williams’ heroics flipped the game.

Reyes challenged the Tropang Giga to raise their urgency as the elimination round progresses, noting the need for sharper execution even in wins.
