PLDT extended its unbeaten streak to 15 matches as the High Speed Hitters shrugged off a fierce Choco Mucho rally and completed a 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 sweep at the Araneta Coliseum late Thursday, October 16. The win came in one hour and 24 minutes and kept PLDT on course toward a possible 16-0 run in Pool A.
The Flying Titans brought intensity, especially in the second set, but PLDT countered with disciplined blocking and crisp transition offense. The High Speed Hitters turned pressure into points whenever Choco Mucho threatened to seize momentum.

Davison steps up as PLDT withstands surge
Savi Davison led the charge with 19 points, three blocks and seven excellent digs, earning Best Player of the Game honors. “When you’re on the court, all you want is to do your best for the team,” she said, adding that she focused on role execution rather than stats.
Anastasiia Bavykina added 13 points while Kim Dy contributed nine. Middle options Majoy Baron and Dell Palomata combined for 11 markers as PLDT out-hit Choco Mucho, 43-34, and produced 10 team blocks to the Titans’ five.

Choco Mucho’s Marlee Smith impressed in her debut with 20 points, but her efforts were isolated as local scorers struggled. Isa Molde, Aduke Ogunsanya and Cherry Nunag were limited to four points apiece, Kat Tolentino finished with two, and Maddie Madayag was held scoreless.
Libero Kath Arado’s defense was a cornerstone—her 17 excellent digs kept PLDT in system and fuelled rapid counters that repeatedly put Choco Mucho on the back foot.
Net defense fuels decisive third set
The third set collapsed quickly for the Titans after PLDT grabbed four of the first five points and never looked back. Choco Mucho rallied briefly when Royse Tubino strung together runs, but PLDT’s timing at the net and quick offensive reads sealed the outcome.
Davison’s crosscourt kill and a block on Dindin Manabat swung momentum back in PLDT’s favor late in the set. Bavykina’s final line-drive through the block and Baron’s quick attack finished the job and sent the High Speed Hitters home with another statement win.
