Kaya FC-Iloilo and Capital1 Solar Spikers continued their strong campaigns in the PFF Women’s League, routing their respective opponents Saturday night at the Mall of Asia Football Field to remain tied in second place with 18 points apiece.

Julissa Cisneros recorded the league’s fourth hat-trick while Inday Tolentin added a brace as Kaya dismantled University of the Philippines, 5-0. Meanwhile, Judie Arevalo exploded for five goals in Capital1’s 12-1 thrashing of University of Santo Tomas.

Though both teams are level on points, Kaya holds the edge in goal difference, keeping them just ahead in the standings. Stallion-Laguna stayed atop the table with 19 points.

Cisneros, Arevalo lead individual goal surges

Cisneros, now the league’s top scorer with 12 goals, struck twice in the first half to help Kaya build a commanding 4-0 halftime lead. She capped off her hat-trick with another goal after the break, sealing an emphatic win.

“I’m very happy obviously. I’m very grateful on my teammates,” Cisneros said following her standout performance.

Capital1’s onslaught was even more brutal. Despite early evening rains, the Solar Spikers launched an aggressive second half, scoring eight of their 12 goals after the break. Arevalo, now with 10 goals, was unstoppable throughout the match.

“Masaya po at nakatulong na naman sa team at meron kaming hinahabol na point system sa goal difference,” said Arevalo, noting the team’s push to boost its goal tally in the standings.

Supporting acts and record margins

Capital1 also saw a hat-trick from Regine Rebosura, with Angelica Torres and Princess Caparida adding one goal apiece. Their win matched the tournament’s biggest margin of victory, previously set by Kaya in their 11-0 win over UP earlier in the season.

The only consolation for UST came late in stoppage time, with Christi Logastua scoring their lone goal.

Both UST and UP remain stuck at three points, far behind the title contenders, as the season heads into a crucial stretch for positioning and playoff aspirations.
