Myla Pablo came through when Nxled needed her most, scoring the final four points to hold off Farm Fresh, 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 15-12, on Saturday, Oct. 17. The Chameleons remained unbeaten in the PVL All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series.

Nxled led two sets to none before Farm Fresh stormed back to force a decider at the Playtime Filoil Centre in San Juan, but Pablo capped the win with a block. The victory lifted the Chameleons to 2-0 and into a share of the lead with Choco Mucho.

Myla Pablo Takes Over in Fifth Set

Brooke Van Sickle gave Nxled an 8-7 edge at the changeover with three straight hits. MJ Phillips then broke the final tie at 9-9, and a Ces Molina attack error put the Chameleons up 11-9.

Pablo took charge from there and answered Farm Fresh’s push. She finished with 17 points and closed the match at the net. Van Sickle led Nxled with 20 points, six of them on blocks, and added 16 digs.

Nxled Blocking Wall Fuels Unbeaten Start

Nxled piled up 23 blocks, including seven from Jackie Acuña, who finished with 12 points. The Chameleons trailed in attack points, 59-69, but their wall and 54 digs kept Farm Fresh from taking over.

Farm Fresh rallied from two sets down to win the third and fourth. Molina led the Foxies with 16 points, and Trisha Tubu added nine. The Foxies fell to 1-1 in the Siklab Series.

Van Sickle, a three-time league MVP, credited Farm Fresh for its adjustments after the Foxies forced a fifth set. Nxled opened its campaign with a sweep of PLDT on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
