The Aboitiz Football Cup concluded its milestone 25th season with a championship showcase at the Aboitiz Pitch in LIMA Estate, highlighting a quarter-century of grassroots football development in the Philippines.

The tournament, organized by the Aboitiz Foundation, brought together young athletes, football clubs, families, and communities from across the country in a nationwide celebration of competition, discipline, and youth development through sport.

Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu emerged as the standout program of the season, capturing both the U16 and U18 titles in a dominant campaign that underscored the strength of Cebu’s grassroots football system.

Cebu dominates finals stage

The championship rounds featured top regional clubs from Batangas, Tarlac, Cebu, and Davao, reflecting the nationwide reach and competitive depth of the Aboitiz Football Cup across multiple youth divisions.

Batangas teams Blitzkrieg Football Foundation and Tanauan Football Academy, Tarlac’s Basa Football Club, Cebu’s Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, and Davao-based squads all competed in a tightly contested season that highlighted the growing standard of youth football in the Philippines.

Cebu’s Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu ultimately set the pace, delivering consistent performances throughout the tournament to secure both divisional crowns and cap off a statement season.

Grassroots football legacy

Now on its 25th year, the Aboitiz Football Cup has become the country’s longest-running grassroots football tournament, providing structured competition and development pathways for young Filipino athletes across multiple regions.

Aboitiz Group and Aboitiz Foundation leaders emphasized the tournament’s role in shaping discipline, teamwork, and long-term character development, with football clinics and community programs reinforcing its impact beyond competition.
