The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and Hann Reserve are exploring a pioneering partnership to nurture the next generation of Filipino golfers at New Clark City, Tarlac. The initiative aims to provide young athletes with elite coaching and world-class development pathways.

Hann Reserve General Manager Tim Neil announced plans for a PGA-certified academy within the eco-luxury estate. The facility will deliver scientific coaching, holistic education, and structured training programs to prepare young players for international competition.

PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio welcomed the initiative, noting its alignment with the National Academy of Sports (NAS), located just two kilometers from Hann Reserve. He emphasized the potential to expand sports development and elevate Filipino athletes on the global stage.

“NAS can strengthen linkages so we can add more sports quickly. This proposed collaboration with Hann Reserve is exactly the kind of initiative that will help Filipino athletes thrive globally,” said Gregorio.

Neil highlighted that the academy could extend beyond athletic training, integrating golf into educational and community programs. “One of the key missions of the PGA is grassroots growth. Whether through our academy or community engagement, we’re committed to building golf from the ground up,” he said.

As vice chairman of NAS, Gregorio added, “We have eight sports already, and archery will be added soon. Because of Hann Reserve’s program, golf should be next.” Under the proposed partnership, NAS will provide scholars with free education, lodging, and allowances through Hann Foundation, Inc., with support from the National Golf Association of the Philippines.

Hann Reserve spans 450 hectares and features three championship golf courses designed by Nicklaus Design, K.J. Choi, and Sir Nick Faldo. Complementing the courses are a PGA Performance Center and PGA Village, envisioned as hubs for elite training and competition at international standards.

Beyond supporting the PSC’s sports tourism goals, Hann Reserve showcases growing investor confidence in New Clark City, a flagship development of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority. Neil said the academy seeks to “create structured pathways that elevate golf development, while integrating education and wellness into a single ecosystem.”

With Hann Reserve’s ambitious vision and PSC’s commitment to grassroots empowerment, the Philippines is positioned to become a competitive golf destination in Southeast Asia, offering young athletes opportunities to train, compete, and dream big.
