Two rising Filipino MMA fighters are officially set for their return to the Circle as Jean Claude Saclag and Marwin Quirante lock in their rescheduled bouts for ONE Friday Fights 109. The highly anticipated event takes place on May 23, 2025, at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Saclag, a Team Lakay representative, will square off against Turkmenistan’s Shazada Ataev in a flyweight showdown. Meanwhile, AJJ Sprawl’s Quirante is set to face Russia’s Torepchi Dongak in a strawweight MMA battle—both fights originally slated for ONE Friday Fights 102 before the event was canceled due to an earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand.

With each fighter carrying momentum from their previous wins, the stakes are higher than ever. Saclag has emerged as a fearsome striker, securing stoppages over Lee Jun Young and Fajar with his heavy hands. His power and precision have positioned him as a dark horse in the flyweight division.

Quirante, on the other hand, has shown a well-rounded skillset in his two-fight win streak inside ONE. He forced Phan Thanh Tung to submit due to strikes and followed up by tapping out Musa Musazade in his sophomore appearance.

Both men are chasing one goal: a $100,000 contract to join the ONE main roster. With another strong showing, they could soon find themselves fighting on the same cards as Filipino icon Joshua Pacio or top contender Yuya Wakamatsu.

One fighter still awaiting her rebooking is Islay Erika Bomogao. She was originally scheduled to face Narea Rubio in the co-main of ONE Friday Fights 102 but now turns her focus to representing the Philippines at the IFMA Muay Thai World Championship in Turkey.
