ONE Silay delivered a statement win in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Under-21 Men’s Championship, pulling off a nail-biting 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 32-30 upset over the highly favored Volleyball Never Stop (VNS) Club on Wednesday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Representing Negros Occidental, ONE Silay showcased resilience and grit, matching every powerful play from VNS in a grueling Group A battle. Their victory gives them an early edge in the five-day tournament, which marks the first-ever edition of the PNVF U-21 Men’s Championship under PNVF President Ramon “Tats” Suzara.

Zamboanga City Survives Five-Set Thriller

Meanwhile, Mindanao’s No. 1-ranked Zamboanga City overcame North Luzon’s No. 2-ranked Lingayen in another intense Group A match. Zamboanga City fought through five sets, securing a dramatic 16-25, 25-20, 23-25, 30-28, 15-7 win.

What’s Next? Key Matches to Watch

ONE Silay and Zamboanga City are set to collide on Thursday at 2 PM, with both teams aiming to keep their winning momentum. Other Day 2 matches include:

  • Notre Dame of Dadiangas University vs. City of Naga-Cebu Volleyball Club9 AM
  • Umingan Volleyball Club vs. University of the East11 AM
  • VNS vs. Lingayen4 PM

The preliminary round continues until Friday, followed by the semifinals on Saturday and the final on Sunday.
