Korean expertise amplifies PNVF’s preparations for FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) is raising the bar for the country’s first solo hosting of the FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025 with a strategic infusion of Korean marketing expertise. The prestigious event, set to take place from September 12 to 28, will showcase world-class volleyball action at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and SM Mall of Asia Arena, with 32 nations vying for the championship.

PNVF President Ramon “Tats” Suzara, a prominent figure in global volleyball, announced the appointment of Jeon Yongjun as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Local Organizing Committee (LOC). The announcement was made during Suzara’s official visit to Seoul last week.

“We wish to create opportunities for South Korea in the world of volleyball,” said Suzara, who also serves as president of the Asian Volleyball Confederation and executive vice president of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

Jeon Yongjun, recommended by Choongwon Su, chief development officer of NEOCOLORS P&A Inc., will bring Korea’s innovative marketing and promotional strategies to the event. Suzara emphasized that Jeon’s role will be instrumental in driving the success and global visibility of the tournament.

The PNVF aims to capitalize on the Philippines’ love for pop culture and the growing influence of Korean entertainment, particularly with the South Korean national team competing in Pool C alongside France, Argentina, and Finland. Plans are underway to bring a globally renowned K-pop group to the opening ceremony, further amplifying the event’s appeal.

Suzara also highlighted the event’s potential to attract Asian and Korean businesses, offering them a platform to connect with billions of viewers worldwide. The LOC, co-chaired by William Vincent Araneta Marcos, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, and Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, aims to surpass the 2022 championship’s global reach of 1.5 billion viewers.

The host Philippines is drawn in Pool A with Iran, Egypt, and Tunisia. Other notable groupings include defending champion Italy in Pool F with Ukraine, Belgium, and Algeria, and Brazil in Pool H with Serbia, Czechia, and China.

With its unique blend of world-class volleyball, cultural integration, and marketing innovation, the FIVB Men’s World Championship 2025 is poised to become the biggest volleyball event ever hosted in the Philippines.
