Every contender needs a player who can bury a shot when a possession breaks down, and Sean Salvador is making a case to be that guy for Jose Rizal University (JRU). The sophomore guard’s shooting gives the Heavy Bombers a late-game option in NCAA Season 102.
Salvador showed what that looks like in the season opener against Mapúa on Monday, Sept. 14. His three-pointer with 2.2 seconds left lifted JRU to a 65-64 win at the Filoil EcoOil Centre and showcased a guard whose confidence from deep defines his game.

Why Salvador Fits JRU’s Late-Game Needs
Salvador, a Skechers athlete, is one of the Heavy Bombers’ key perimeter threats, and that role matters most when baskets are hard to come by. A shooter defenders must respect also opens up space for his teammates.
He does not have to carry the scoring load, either. Lawrence Mangubat led JRU with 22 points against Mapúa while Salvador scored nine, a split that lets Salvador pick his moments and make them count.
Extra Work Fuels Salvador’s Shooting Confidence
Salvador’s confidence is built long before game night. He has shared that he regularly puts in extra work after practice to get comfortable with shots from spots like the corner.
That habit shows up when the pressure is highest. If he keeps converting from the outside, Salvador can become the player JRU trusts most when it needs a big shot, which is exactly what a go-to weapon does.
