A late double bogey on the 16th hole cost Sungjae Im his outright lead at the SJM Macao Open on Saturday, Oct. 17, allowing Wang Wei-hsuan to pull level at 14-under par after three rounds. The pair will share the top spot heading into Sunday.
Im shot a 1-under 69 at Macau Golf & Country Club as he chases his first Asian Tour title. Wang, who lost last year’s tournament in a playoff, shot a 66 to join him atop a leaderboard with a four-shot gap to the chasing pack.

Sungjae Im Stumbles on the 16th Hole
Wang had a chance to edge ahead on the 16th after Im hit into the trees and needed two shots to escape. Instead, Wang three-putted from 15 feet for a bogey.
Im birdied the last hole to finish tied for the lead. “I wasn’t as good as the first two days and I’m not really happy with my round today. But I shot under par, so we’ll see what happens tomorrow,” said Im, a two-time PGA Tour champion.
Wang Wei-hsuan Eyes Redemption in Final Round
Wang said the wind made the round tough. “The wind is like a lot stronger than the last two days. My drives, maybe for nearly all of them, were not as consistent as the last two days because the conditions were difficult,” he said.
“When I went a little bit out of position, I stayed calm and played more conservatively. I tried to aim for the middle of the green instead of attacking the pin. I think that my shot execution was pretty good,” said Wang.
Justin Quiban of the Philippines shot a 65 to tie China’s Andi Xu (67) for third at 10-under. Pavit Tangkamolprasert, Andy Ogletree, Paul Casey and Henrik Stenson finished tied for fifth at 9-under.
