Maverick Ahanmisi Posts First Career Triple-Double

Ahanmisi finished with 18 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds, shooting 6-of-7 from the field in just over 28 minutes. The veteran guard completed the triple-double by the end of the third quarter, with the Dyip up 109-94.

Tiongson drilled six three-pointers on his way to 30 points. Coach Ronald Tubid rested him, Ahanmisi and import Justin Strings in the fourth quarter as the lead ballooned to 32 points.

Terrafirma Looks Ahead After Governors’ Cup

Terrafirma finished 5-7 in Group A, and Tubid said the team wanted to end the conference on a high. “Before the game kasi sinabi namin sa boys na we need to end this conference on a high note. At least may babalikan kami next conference,” he said.

Tubid also looked ahead to next season. “So next season, probably, we’re gonna start early para mabuo ulit ‘yung chemistry. We’re getting there, the team is slowly improving,” he said.

Ahanmisi becomes an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, but he said Terrafirma will remain a major consideration. He joined the Dyip in a trade with Barangay Ginebra and has played two conferences with the team.
