Choco Mucho is showing it can win without leaning on a single star. The Flying Titans swept ZUS Coffee, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20, on Thursday night, October 15, to move to 2-0 in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series.

The win gave Choco Mucho the early lead in the standings after a five-set comeback victory over Capital1 last Saturday in Cebu. No ZUS Coffee player reached double figures in the Thunderbelles’ season opener.

Rondina-Rosales, Laure Lead a Deeper Choco Mucho Attack

Sisi Rondina-Rosales led all scorers with 15 points, all from attacks, while Eya Laure finished with 13 points and nine excellent receptions. Kat Tolentino added eight points and seven digs, giving Choco Mucho scoring and defense from several spots.

Choco Mucho held a 50-42 edge in attack points, a 6-2 advantage in blocks and a 3-1 lead in service aces. The Flying Titans also kept their errors down, committing 12 errors to ZUS Coffee’s 16.

Head coach Dante Alinsunurin said the team controlled the match from the first set to the third and showed what it had worked on in training. He added that, knowing ZUS Coffee’s middle blockers could dominate, Choco Mucho made a point of serving aggressively.
