EST Cola bounced back in style Tuesday, September 1, sweeping Farm Fresh Foxies 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The win lifted EST Cola to 1-1 in the PVL Invitational, creating a four-way tie atop the six-team field.

The Thais had dropped a four-set opener to PLDT a day earlier. They wasted no time bouncing back, dictating tempo against a game Farm Fresh squad from start to finish.

Phontham, Saelao Lead EST Cola’s Attack

Papatchaya Phontham led all scorers with 17 points, finishing with 13 kills, three aces and a block. Her early aggression at the net set the tone and kept Farm Fresh on its heels.

Setter Natnicha Saelao ran the offense with 22 excellent sets, adding seven points and four kill blocks of her own. Nirarach Srikuta and Nannaphat Moonjakham backed her up with nine points apiece, while Nattharika Wasan chipped in seven more.

Saelao praised her team’s chemistry after the win. “Today, we are so happy because of our teamwork, and I helped in everything,” she said, thanking the Filipino fans for their support.

Farm Fresh Falls Despite Tubu’s Effort

Trisha Tubu topped Farm Fresh with 15 points, all of them coming from attacks. That was a drop-off from her 25-point outing a day earlier, when she torched Ho Chi Minh City.

Ces Molina and Ara Galang scored nine and seven points, respectively, but the rest of the roster struggled to find offense. EST Cola outhit Farm Fresh 41-34 and won the block battle 8-4 to seal a dominant all-around performance.

The Foxies now regroup to face unbeaten Creamline on Thursday, looking to bounce back themselves.
