Game 2 of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals saw TNT Tropang 5G respond strongly to even the series against Barangay Ginebra at 1-1. The Tropang 5G delivered a composed and controlled performance to secure a 101-94 victory and regain momentum in the championship battle.

Calvin Oftana delivered a standout performance for TNT, providing consistent offensive production and steady execution throughout crucial stretches of the game. After the win, he said, “Composure lang. Alam natin Ginebra will come back, NSD sila. I’m happy sa team we overcame the endgame run of Ginebra.” He also added, “Wala naman special motivation after the contested non-call in Game 1. Move on na kami doon. Motivated kaming lahat this game para ma-tie ang series.”

TNT established rhythm early in the contest and maintained structured ball movement throughout the game. The team’s balanced scoring distribution helped sustain control even as Ginebra attempted multiple late runs to shift momentum.

Barangay Ginebra once again showed resilience in the fourth quarter, cutting into TNT’s lead with trademark pressure and scoring bursts. However, TNT responded at key moments with composed possessions that prevented a complete turnaround.

Coach Chot Reyes stressed discipline in the win, saying, “It’s really about not relaxing when you’re up against Ginebra.”

The series is now tied at 1-1, setting the stage for a pivotal Game 3 where both teams will adjust strategies to gain an advantage in the best-of-seven championship series.

Game 2 Execution Control

TNT entered Game 2 with a stronger sense of urgency after its Game 1 loss, executing more efficiently on both ends of the floor. The team focused on spacing, defensive discipline, and shot selection to avoid the late collapse that nearly cost them the opener.

The supporting cast stepped up alongside Oftana, ensuring TNT maintained offensive balance throughout the game. This collective effort helped the Tropang 5G sustain control despite Ginebra’s repeated attempts to close the gap.

Series Tied at 1-1

With the Finals now tied at 1-1, both teams shift focus to Game 3 where adjustments will become critical. Neither TNT nor Ginebra has been able to fully dictate tempo, keeping the series highly competitive and unpredictable.

Ginebra continues to rely on experience and late-game execution, while TNT leans on balanced scoring and perimeter efficiency. The next game is expected to further intensify the championship battle as both squads look to establish control.
