Team Power held off a late surge from Team Passion to secure a four-set victory, 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, in the 2026 Spikers’ Turf Volleyball All-Star Showcase on Friday at the Candon City Arena. The exhibition win was highlighted by a strong start and a composed finish under pressure.

The match opened with Team Power dictating the pace through aggressive attacking sequences and strong defensive coverage. They capitalized early to take control of the first two sets, but Team Passion responded in the third set to extend the contest and test Team Power’s composure.

Kampton leads Team Power’s early control

Team Power captain Noel Kampton powered his squad with consistent scoring and efficient finishing, setting the tone across the opening sets. His leadership helped stabilize the offense while limiting Team Passion’s rhythm during crucial stretches.

Coach Sydney Calderon emphasized staying composed despite early pressure, urging his team to focus on execution rather than the scoreboard. That approach allowed Team Power to recover momentum after brief lapses and maintain their advantage heading into the closing stages.

Kim Malabunga and JM Ronquillo also delivered key points in the fourth set, helping Team Power regain control after Team Passion tied the score at 21-all through Alche Gupiteo’s attack.

Calado led Team Passion with 16 points, while Colinares and Jay Rack De La Noche contributed steady offense to keep the match competitive. Despite their push, late errors and key blocks from Team Power shifted momentum back in the final moments.

Ronquillo’s clutch block touch set up match point, and Kampton sealed the win with a cross-court kill to complete the four-set victory. Team Power also secured the P100,000 prize, while Team Passion settled for P50,000.

In side events, PVL All-Stars also took part in the Zig-Zag Dig-A-Thon, with Team Hustle emerging victorious behind Brooke Van Sickle, Jackie Acuña, and Tots Carlos alongside fan participants.
