Jaylon Tyson authored the best scoring performance of his young career on Friday, Jan. 16, pouring in 39 points as the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers edged the Philadelphia 76ers 117-115 at Wells Fargo Center. The victory completed a two-game road sweep of the season series in Philadelphia.
Cleveland erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit and survived a frantic final minute to secure the comeback. The Cavaliers also won the previous meeting 133-107 earlier in the week.
Donovan Mitchell finished with 13 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, narrowly missing a triple-double while orchestrating the rally. The Cavaliers played without Darius Garland and Sam Merrill due to injuries suffered in Wednesday’s contest.

Cavaliers rally in fourth quarter
Philadelphia appeared in control when Paul George knocked down a jumper with 8:47 remaining to stretch the lead to 11. Cleveland responded with a 13-2 surge, highlighted by De’Andre Hunter’s three-pointer that tied the game at 102 with 5:53 left.
Turnovers briefly allowed the 76ers to rebuild a seven-point cushion, but the Cavaliers refused to fade. Hunter’s layup in the final minute put Cleveland back in front.
Mobley seals dramatic finish
Evan Mobley made one of two free throws with 22.7 seconds remaining before Tyrese Maxey answered with a driving basket to tie the game with 8.1 seconds left. Out of a timeout, Tyson found Mobley for a point-blank dunk that proved decisive.
Maxey’s heave from beyond midcourt at the buzzer fell short, sealing Cleveland’s second straight win in Philadelphia. [Associated Press]
