Jalen Green needed help to get off the court late in the first quarter of the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 8 in Inglewood, Calif., after apparently re-aggravating his hamstring injury. The guard logged just seven minutes before pulling up on a drive to the basket and heading to the bench gingerly.
Green managed two points before exiting in only his second appearance for Phoenix. The Suns quickly ruled him out for the remainder of the night as he continued dealing with the hamstring issue that has slowed the early part of his season.

Early momentum halted by setback
Green made his Phoenix debut Thursday and impressed with 29 points in a win over the Clippers in Arizona. However, the Nov. 8 game was a different story, as he exited after seven minutes and two points due to the hamstring problem that delayed his start.
He missed Phoenix’s first eight games after sustaining the injury in training camp, and the issue was further aggravated on the Suns’ preseason trip to China. His return for the Nov. 8 game marked a hoped-for turning point, now stalled by another setback.

Trade arrival and ongoing injury challenge
The Suns acquired Green from Houston in last summer’s megatrade that sent Kevin Durant to the Rockets. With the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 draft now in Phoenix, expectations were high—but his hamstring injury has already disrupted his early run with the team.
Green is expected to play a major role once healthy, but Phoenix will monitor his timeline closely following the Nov. 8 exit. The club has yet to provide a return date.
