Cignal stays solo second in Spikers’ Turf after sweep of FEU-DN Steel

Cignal continued its strong campaign in the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference, sweeping FEU-DN Steel, 26-24, 25-20, 25-22, on Friday, Nov. 7, at Paco Arena in Manila to remain solo second in the standings.

The victory pushed the Super Spikers to 4-1, trailing only the unbeaten Criss Cross King Crunchers. It also marked Cignal’s second straight win as the squad sharpened its postseason push.

Cignal executes game plan in tight finish

Head coach Dexter Clamor lauded his squad for staying disciplined across the three sets and keeping composure in the crucial rallies. He emphasized how their polished movement and execution made the difference from start to finish.

Cignal leaned on timely hits late, especially after FEU-DN Steel fought back to tie the third set at 22. Lloyd Josafat delivered a clutch push shot, then FEU-DN Steel committed back-to-back attack errors to end the match.

Jay Rack Dela Noche and Louie Ramirez powered the offense with 13 points apiece, while JP Bugaoan added 11. Josafat and Wendel Miguel also provided key support on both ends.

FEU-DN Steel suffers back-to-back losses

The Tamaraws dropped to 1-3 after absorbing their second straight defeat. Dryx Saavedra was the lone player in double figures with 12 points, while Amet Bituin and Luis Miguel finished with seven each.

Cignal returns Wednesday at Paco Arena versus UST-Gameville, while FEU-DN Steel looks to bounce back on Sunday against VNS at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
