PFL Europe Nantes came to a close at the Zenith Nantes Metropole after an action-packed evening of mixed martial arts, showcasing the rising stars of French and European talent.
The main event belonged to hometown hero Amin “Fierceness” Ayoub (26-5), who electrified the French crowd by stopping Keweny “Leão” Lopes (12-4-1). The victory extended Ayoub’s winning streak to ten, and he wasted no time calling for a quick turnaround, declaring, “I will continue to KO any opponent I face in the PFL cage, I’m just waiting for the call for PFL, I’m ready for Dubai next week, baby!”
Belgium’s undefeated powerhouse Boris “Modern Gladiator” Mbarga Atangana (7-0) added another highlight-reel finish, stopping Jhony Gregory (10-5) in the first round. With his ability to compete across Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, and Heavyweight, Atangana continues to climb as one of PFL’s most feared rising stars.
Lightweight and Bantamweight finals set for Lyon
The tournament brackets for the Lightweight and Bantamweight divisions are now locked for PFL Lyon on December 13 at the LDLC Arena.
Connor Hughes (12-2) punched his ticket to the Lightweight final with a devastating head-kick knockout over Gino “The Ghost Assassin” van Steenis. Hughes, who came up short in 2024, will have another shot at claiming the PFL Europe Lightweight crown. His opponent, Aleksandr “Pretty Boy” Chizov (12-3), advanced with a split decision win over Claudio Pacella (6-3).
In the Bantamweight division, Dean Garnett (14-3-1) submitted Jan Ciepłowski (9-1) via guillotine choke to secure his place in the final. He will face France’s Baris “The Sniper” Adiguzel (9-1), who stunned Nantes with a 36-second knockout of Julien “Boyka” Lopez (7-6-1), setting up a high-stakes showdown in Lyon for $100,000 and the tournament championship.
