ONE Atomweight MMA World Champion Denice Zamboanga has her eyes set on a possible return to action this November. She wants to be part of the high-profile ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri card scheduled for November 16 in Tokyo, Japan.
Zamboanga expressed her excitement about potentially competing in Japan, a country she admires for its deep martial arts roots. The Filipina star emphasized that she is ready to defend her belt against any contender who steps forward.

Zamboanga ready to prove she belongs at the top
The historic event already features two World Title fights, but Zamboanga wants to join the champion-filled lineup. The main event pits Superbon against Masaaki Noiri in a kickboxing unification bout, while “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane defends his heavyweight MMA title against Anatoly Malykhin.
Zamboanga is unfazed by critics who question her legitimacy as champion following Stamp Fairtex’s injury and title vacancy. She knows the only way to erase doubt is to keep winning and prove her worth inside the Circle.
Her goal is to remain active and make herself undeniable by consistently defeating top contenders. “There might be people who think I only became champion because Stamp was stripped of the belt, but I’m determined to prove that I truly deserve this,” she said.
Proud Filipina champion eyes successful title defense
Zamboanga believes defending her title in Tokyo would be a dream opportunity. Competing in the birthplace of MMA would be both an honor and a chance to showcase Filipino talent on a global stage.
She is driven by a deep sense of pride and a mission to bring glory to the Philippines. “We will make sure to bring home the win to my dear country, the Philippines,” Zamboanga declared.
