The 2025 PFL World Tournament Semifinals took place at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, where fighters across three weight divisions booked their tickets to August’s Finals. A stacked card featured dominant performances, comeback wins, and redemption arcs that raised the stakes for what lies ahead in the championship rounds.

In the Heavyweight division, Alexander Romanov advanced by judges’ selection after an unfortunate no contest against Valentin Moldavsky due to an accidental groin strike. Romanov will now meet Russia’s Oleg Popov in the Finals, after Popov earned a dominant unanimous decision win over Rodrigo Nascimento.

Rosta, Edwards, and Cauley punch their tickets to the Finals

Dalton Rosta avenged his only career loss by defeating Aaron Jeffery in a razor-close split decision, evening their rivalry at one apiece. Rosta’s sharp striking and composure under pressure proved the difference as he secured a Middleweight Finals berth. His opponent will be England’s Fabian Edwards, who outclassed Josh Silveira with a disciplined striking game and punishing elbows en route to a unanimous decision.

Sullivan Cauley earned the biggest win of his young career by outpointing former Bellator champion Phil Davis in the Light Heavyweight Semifinal. After surviving a scare in round two, Cauley’s consistent damage in the final frame earned him a unanimous nod and a date with Antonio Carlos Jr., who smothered Simeon Powell in a grappling-heavy performance to punch his ticket to the 205-pound Finals.

Pettis shines in long-awaited grudge match

Sergio Pettis finally got to face Raufeon Stots after years of anticipation, edging out a tight unanimous decision in a high-level striking chess match. The SmartCage also saw Ronnie Gibbs stay unbeaten with a submission win over Biaggio Ali Walsh, and Rafael Xavier scoring a 27-second TKO against Karl Albrektsson.

With the Finals scheduled across three U.S. cities—Atlantic City, Charlotte, and Hollywood—the PFL now turns its focus to crowning new champions. The action resumes August 1 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in New Jersey.
