Age-group athletes now have the opportunity to compete for world championship glory at the T100 Triathlon World Championships in Qatar on December 12-13, 2025.

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and World Triathlon have officially announced the qualification process, allowing amateur triathletes to race in their respective age-group categories alongside the world’s best professionals.

How to Qualify for the 2025 Qatar T100 Age-Group World Championships

Amateur athletes can secure a spot in the T100 Age-Group World Championships through two pathways:

  1. Top 10 Placement – Athletes finishing in the top 10 of their age-group and gender at any T100 Triathlon World Tour mass participation race in 2025 will qualify.

  2. National Federation Selection – Athletes may also qualify through an internal selection process managed by their respective National Federations, following standard World Triathlon Age-Group selection processes.

The T100 Triathlon World Championships will take place over a 100km course, featuring the same route as the professionals.

The T100 Triathlon World Championships will take place over a 100km distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run), mirroring the course raced by professional triathletes.

A Unique Experience for Amateur Athletes

“One of the unique aspects of T100 is the opportunity for professionals and age-groupers to compete on the same courses, in the same iconic cities, and on the same weekends,” said PTO CEO Sam Renouf.

“The T100 is the F1 of long-distance triathlon – with the greatest athletes competing consistently in a season-long competition in iconic locations. However, unlike in F1 and other pro sports, triathlon provides the opportunity for amateurs to challenge themselves with the same experience as the top professionals in the world.”
