Davison Leads Balanced PLDT Attack
Davison had to work through ZUS Coffee’s size and net defense before finding her rhythm. She finished with 13 points, while Kim Dy added eight and Dell Palomata and Jessa Ordiales had six apiece.
PLDT out-attacked the Thunderbelles, 44-29, and leaned on its depth, using double substitutions to break a 19-18 tie in the first set. Deputy coach Arnold Laniog got contributions from both starters and bench.
ZUS Coffee pushed back in the second set but squandered a three-point lead. Palomata halted a Jovelyn Gonzaga-led rally, and PLDT closed with four straight points before a Gonzaga service error ended the set.
PLDT Eyes Creamline Showdown
PLDT opened with shutout losses to Nxled and Akari before beating Capital1 in four sets. Thursday’s sweep made it two in a row, while ZUS Coffee, led by Zam Nolasco’s nine points, fell to 0-3.
Next for the High Speed Hitters is a Nov. 5 meeting with the Creamline Cool Smashers at the Philsports Arena in Pasig. Davison said the team will try its best in every game and hopes to keep the streak going.
