Farm Fresh Foxies Complete Comeback From 0-2 Down Against Choco Mucho

Choco Mucho claimed the first two sets, including a 28-26 escape in the second, leaving Farm Fresh in a 0-2 hole. The Foxies then tightened their defense, stayed patient in rallies and finished their attacks better in the third and fourth sets.

In the decider, Farm Fresh built a 6-3 lead behind Tubu’s hitting, but Choco Mucho answered with a 6-1 run to take a 9-7 edge. The Foxies regrouped, tied the count at 12 and went ahead 13-12 on a Mylene Paat-Rezanova hit off the block.

Eya Laure’s attack went wide to give Farm Fresh match point, but Choco Mucho’s challenge failed, its third of the match. Laure then saved match point, but Farm Fresh answered with a dig, a set from Alohi Robins-Hardy and a Tubu kill to end it 15-13.

Tubu finished with 14 points, while Paat-Rezanova scored 15, including four blocks, to earn Best Player of the Game honors. Rookie Jonna Perdido added 11 points, and Royse Tubino chipped in 12.

Ces Molina managed just three points, but Farm Fresh found enough scoring elsewhere. Paat-Rezanova said afterward, in Filipino, that the team prayed for strength and courage and saw the win as a bonus.

For Choco Mucho, Sisi Rondina led with 22 points and Laure added 18. Caitlin Viray and Lorene Toring had nine each, but the Flying Titans could not repeat the five-set comeback they pulled off against Capital1 in the Cebu opener.

The result put Farm Fresh level with Choco Mucho at third, both at 2-1. Nxled, which earlier beat Galeries Tower in four sets, leads alone at 3-0, while Creamline is second at 2-0.
