The offseason tune-up game doubled as a showcase for the Giant Risers’ revamped roster. Import Tirrell Brown added 17 points, while the Dyip played without import Justin Strings.

Pessumal Leads Ageless Performance for Giant Risers

Pessumal’s 22-point outing headlined a dominant team effort that never let Terrafirma find its footing. The veteran guard added another highlight to his long career.

Brown’s 17 points gave the Giant Risers a reliable second scoring option. His production, paired with Pessumal’s poise, proved too much for a shorthanded Dyip squad.

The result extended a strong stretch for Titan Ultra ahead of the new PBA season. Coaches pointed to the mix of experience and depth as a key factor in the win.

RR Garcia’s Debut, Chiu’s Effort Highlight Dyip Night

The matchup also marked the debut of guard RR Garcia with the Giant Risers. Garcia, the former UAAP MVP from Far Eastern University, signed for the rest of Season 50.

The 36-year-old Garcia last suited up for the Phoenix Fuel Masters. His arrival adds another experienced piece to a roster already stacked with scorers like Pessumal and Brown.

On the other side, no. 1 overall pick Geo Chiu tried to keep Terrafirma afloat without Strings. Chiu led the Dyip with 21 points, showing his draft potential.

Aljon Mariano and rookie Chris Miller also contributed for Terrafirma, finishing with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Both could not overcome the Giant Risers’ scoring attack.
