San Miguel Beer turned a bounce-back game into an absolute offensive execution on Wednesday night, July 29. Furious after getting held to a conference-low score in their last outing, the Beermen detonated a 143-105 beating on the Titan Ultra Giant Risers in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The 38-point blowout set a tournament benchmark for both the highest single-game point total and the widest margin of victory this season. San Miguel Beer improved to 4-1 in Group A play with the decisive victory.

Gunner Takeover: King and Ahanmisi Spearhead Heavyweight Attack

Instead of pounding the ball inside to June Mar Fajardo, San Miguel Beer let its perimeter sharpshooters run wild. The eight-time MVP was limited to just six points in reduced minutes, but the San Miguel Beer backcourt picked up the slack without missing a beat.

Import George King set the pace with a game-high 35 points, including two four-pointers in a scorching shooting performance. Jerrick Ahanmisi earned Best Player of the Game honors with 26 points on four three-pointers, while Don Trollano poured in 22 off the bench.

Marcio Lassiter added 13 points to round out the high-scoring perimeter attack. Mo Tautuaa and Ross Cahilig chipped in nine and eight points, respectively, to keep the scoreboard moving for San Miguel Beer.

Titan Ultra managed to trade punches early, trailing just 38-31 after the opening frame and keeping it a tight 61-58 game at the half. Joshua Munzon dropped 25 points to lead Titan, with Sherwin Sajonia scoring 19 and Josh Brown adding 15 before San Miguel Beer took over.

The Beermen erupted for an incredible 49 points in the third quarter—the single highest-scoring quarter by any team in the conference. By holding Titan to just 23 points in that frame, San Miguel Beer blew open a three-point game into a 110-81 runaway before the fourth quarter even started.

The performance also represented a subtle defensive step forward for San Miguel Beer. Holding Titan to 105 points was an improvement over recent defensive slipups against Macau (109), Terrafirma (104), Converge (122), and NLEX (110).

The victory solidifies San Miguel Beer’s positioning near the top of Group A. Meanwhile, Titan Ultra drops its second straight contest to fall to 1-5 overall.
