The PVL Press Corps Awards Night will close out a season that featured multiple defining performances across the Premier Volleyball League with several athletes stepping into major roles that shaped the competitive direction of the 2025 campaign. The event will take place on May 30 at Novotel Manila Araneta City, bringing together the league’s top performers for formal recognition.

Alyssa Valdez Kianna Dy and Erika Santos headline the list of honorees after each delivered significant contributions for their respective teams across different phases of the season, with their performances standing out in leadership impact comeback progression and offensive breakout production.

Valdez leads Creamline stability

Alyssa Valdez served as a stabilizing presence for Creamline throughout a season that required constant adjustments due to injuries and lineup changes affecting the team’s rotation. Her ability to step into key moments allowed the Cool Smashers to maintain structure during critical stretches of competition where experience played a major role.

Beyond scoring responsibilities she provided leadership and composure in high pressure situations that helped guide Creamline through difficult matches en route to another PVL championship finish. The league later recognized her consistency and impact by naming her Miss Quality Minutes after strong support from both media voters and team representatives.

Valdez finished ahead of Chennie Tagaod and Royse Tubino in the final voting results reinforcing her continued importance to Creamline’s sustained success.

Dy comeback Santos breakout

Kianna Dy delivered one of the most notable comeback stories of the season after returning to action following a 559 day absence due to a knee injury that kept her sidelined for an extended period. Her return in January 2025 immediately strengthened PLDT as she regained form and reestablished herself within the High Speed Hitters’ rotation.

She played a key role in PLDT’s title runs in both the PVL On Tour and Invitational Conference contributing important plays during critical stretches of championship matches that defined the team’s success. Her impact extended into the All Filipino Conference where PLDT secured a bronze finish marking its strongest performance in the tournament.

Dy was later named Comeback Player of the Year after finishing on top of the voting against Ces Molina Jema Galanza and Kat Tolentino.

Erika Santos emerged as one of the season’s biggest breakout performers after taking on a larger offensive role and becoming a primary scoring option for her team throughout the campaign. Her production remained consistent across multiple conferences and helped push her squad into a finals appearance in the 2026 All Filipino Conference.

Santos secured the Most Improved Player award after topping the voting over Justine Jazareno Cloanne Mondinero and Chinnie Arroyo, completing a season that marked a clear rise in her competitive standing within the league.

The PVL Press Corps Awards Night will ultimately serve as a formal recognition of how individual growth leadership and comeback performances shaped one of the most competitive seasons in recent league history.
