Cebu set to receive hosting honors
Beyond the competition, attention is also focused on the closing ceremony on April 30, where Cebu City is expected to be formally presented as the host of the 2028 Asian Beach Games.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino described the turnover as a major milestone, emphasizing the importance of preparing for a successful hosting.
Tolentino will be joined by Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro in receiving the games’ colors, symbolizing the Philippines’ role as the next host nation.
The hosting opportunity is seen as a chance to showcase not only Filipino athletic talent but also the country’s capability to stage a major international sporting event.
