Choco Mucho tunes up for Play-In, outlasts ZUS Coffee to close PVL prelims

Choco Mucho Flying Titans closed their PVL All-Filipino Conference 2026 prelims with a 27-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19 victory over ZUS Coffee at FilOil EcoOil Centre Thursday, March 19. The Flying Titans edged a tense first set before dropping the second. They regrouped in the third and dominated the fourth, finishing with a 4-5 record.

Though they missed a Top 4 finish and ended seventh, the win gives them momentum heading into the Play-In stage, where they are likely to face familiar rivals, including ZUS Coffee.

Turning point sparks Flying Titans surge

Choco Mucho found its rhythm in the third set and carried it into the fourth. Lorraine Pecaña’s crucial block sparked a decisive run that shifted momentum.

Deanna Wong followed with an ace and Sisi Rondina added a powerful attack to stretch the lead. Des Cheng contributed late with consistent hits, keeping ZUS Coffee from mounting a comeback. Eya Laure made her first appearance and delivered the match-clinching point.

Balanced attack drives Choco Mucho victory

Five Flying Titans scored in double digits. Rondina led with 18 points, Kat Tolentino had 12, and Pecaña added 11. Des Cheng and Maddie Madayag contributed 10 each, highlighting the team’s balanced offense.

Wong orchestrated the team with 14 excellent sets and five points, earning Best Player of the Game honors. ZUS Coffee finished 10th with a 1-8 record, led by Jovelyn Gonzaga and Thea Gagate with 13 and 12 points respectively.
