PLDT regains control after third-set scare
After dropping the third set, PLDT responded with urgency in the fourth, jumping to an early lead behind Alleiah Malaluan’s scoring burst. The High Speed Hitters built a cushion that Capital1 struggled to trim as their middle blockers tightened coverage at the net.
PLDT finished with a commanding 15 blocks, nine more than the Solar Spikers, repeatedly shutting down attempts to sustain rallies. A late quick attack from Mika Reyes ultimately sealed the one-hour, 53-minute win.
Capital1 leaned heavily on Belen, who delivered 28 points while attacking from multiple positions. She also contributed 12 excellent receptions, highlighting her all-around presence even in defeat.

Bella Belen shines in losing effort
Belen set the tone early, scoring five of Capital1’s first six points and keeping her team competitive through relentless offense. She fired from the wings and unleashed backrow strikes that briefly threatened to swing the momentum.
In the third set, Capital1 capitalized on PLDT errors and extended rallies through disciplined defense. Belen capped the surge with a smart off-the-block finish that forced a fourth frame.
However, the High Speed Hitters restored order with disciplined rotations and consistent execution. Despite Belen’s near 30-point performance and 13 markers from Shaya Adorador, PLDT controlled the attack edge, 61-52, and dictated the tempo late.
Majoy Baron and Reyes added 11 and nine points, respectively, while Malaluan and Jovie Prado provided crucial bench support. PLDT’s balanced scoring and imposing net presence ultimately proved decisive.
